Contacting Dáil Members

Well today I saw an article in the local paper about operations on cancer patients being put off because of lack of beds at Galway hospital.

I looked in our telephone directory and found the telephone number of our Deputy (In England that would be MP) because she was leading a campaign about the lack of beds for A & E and the resultant cancellation of cancer operations. Good isn’t it? Anyone can find the phone number of any member of the Dáil (Parlement) in the comfort of their own home in the Telephone directory.

She was very interested in my story and may well be in touch again.

I was stunned at how approachable the system is over here.
